What Families Often Ask About Early Intervention ABA inCharlotte, NC

How young can my child start early intervention ABA?

Children can begin center-based early intervention ABA with us at 18 months. Whether your child can start depends on their clinical needs and whether the required diagnostic and insurance criteria are met.

Yes, an autism diagnosis is generally required before starting ABA in North Carolina. If your child still needs a diagnosis, we can refer you to a diagnostic provider and keep your case open while you complete the process.

Yes, North Carolina generally requires a separate referral or prescription for ABA even when the autism evaluation recommends treatment. We review both during intake because the recommendation in your child’s evaluation does not replace the separate referral.

Turning 6 does not automatically mean your child must stop ABA therapy. Our center-based early intervention program serves children through age 6, while in-home ABA may continue for older children when clinically appropriate and covered.

Yes, limited mobility does not automatically prevent your child from receiving early intervention ABA at our center. The BCBA considers your child’s needs during the assessment and determines which treatment setting is clinically appropriate.
