Applied Behavior Analysis Therapist, Charlotte, NC
Finding the right ABA therapy for your child can come with a lot of questions. How much therapy do they need, and would they do better at a center, at home, or with a mix of both? We offer both center-based and in-home ABA, giving our clinicians options for matching care to your child’s needs and daily life. Our center specializes in early intervention for ages 18 months through 6, while in-home ABA is available for children and teens through age 17, with older children considered based on medical necessity.
The right approach depends on your child and what support would be most helpful in their daily life. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) gets to know your child, your family’s priorities, and where support may be most helpful. From there, the BCBA recommends treatment goals, weekly therapy hours, and whether care should take place at the center, at home, or both. As therapy continues, the BCBA stays involved and uses your child’s progress to guide changes to the treatment plan.
This flexibility means your child’s care can change as their needs and daily life change. One child may benefit from peer practice and school-readiness routines at the center, while another may need help with communication or daily routines at home. Parents work directly with their child’s BCBA so they can carry useful strategies into life outside therapy. This same ABA-focused approach is available through our ABA therapy centers in North Carolina.

What Families Often Ask About ABA Therapy inCharlotte, NC.
How do you decide how many hours of ABA therapy my child needs?
A BCBA recommends your child’s weekly ABA hours after completing the clinical assessment. The recommendation reflects your child’s individual needs and family needs rather than assigning the same treatment intensity to every child.
How do you decide between center-based and in-home ABA therapy?
Your child’s assessment helps determine whether center-based, in-home, or a combination of both is appropriate. The setting can change as your child’s needs and routines change, so your family is not locked into one option.
Does my child need an autism diagnosis before starting ABA therapy?
Yes, an autism diagnosis and required supporting documentation are generally needed to start ABA therapy in North Carolina. If your child still needs a diagnosis, we refer you to a diagnostic provider and keep the case open while you complete that process.
What happens during an ABA assessment?
A BCBA assesses your child and uses the findings to develop an individualized treatment plan. The assessment guides treatment goals, recommended weekly hours, and treatment setting while giving you an opportunity to discuss priorities for your child.
How involved will I be in my child’s ABA therapy?
You will participate in regular parent training with your child’s own BCBA as part of treatment. Training begins before services or within the first week and typically continues every two weeks to help you apply treatment strategies during daily routines.
